Medication Management
Medications can be the cornerstone of treatment for many persons seeking mental health treatment. For people battling depression, attention deficient disorders, anxiety, grief, or addictive disorders medications may bring symptomatic relief. Psychotropic medications are often the treatment of choice for persons with serious brain disorders such as mental illness.
Every individual seeking medication services needs an assessment by a psychiatrist, or advanced practice nurse with collaboration of a psychiatrist. This is to determine the benefit of psychoactive medications and the management of the medication regimen. Pathways can provide this assessment, along with:
- education regarding the effects of the medication and its relationship to the person's mental illness
- prescription of medications
- ongoing monitoring of the medication's effects
In an effort to increase access to services, Pathways offers a tele-health option in most locations. For more information, contact the nearest Pathways office.
Payment accepted in the form of insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, self pay (cash, check, credit card). Scholarships, United Way and Department of Mental Health funding may be available in some areas
