Medication Management
Medications can be the cornerstone of treatment for many persons seeking mental
health treatment. For people battling depression, attention deficient disorders,
anxiety, grief, or addictive disorders medications may bring symptomatic relief.
Psychotropic medications are often the treatment of choice for persons with serious
brain disorders such as mental illness. Every individual seeking medication services
needs an assessment by a psychiatrist, or advanced practice nurse under supervision
of a psychiatrist. This is to determine the benefit of psychoactive medications
and the management of the medication regimen. Pathways can provide this assessment,
along with others services including:
education regarding the effects of the medication and its relationship to the
person's mental illness, the prescription of medications and the ongoing monitoring
of the medication's effects. |
